Brighton Art Fair 2008
Feedback from both artists and visitors to the Brighton Art Fair last year was fantastic. Thank you to all the artists who exhibited with us for providing ' the highest quality show to date' and to all the visitors who came through the doors and showed their enthusiasm both verbally and by buying lots of art!
Here's what some of our visitors said about Brighton Art Fair 2008 ...
'I go to all the arts and craft fairs in London; Frieze, Zoo, Origins, Affordable, Biz Design Centre, etc and I had assumed that last night would be a small regional event with a few local artists. Sorry...I couldn’t have been more wrong. Couple of lovely illustrators, one of which I will almost certainly be commissioning, great atmosphere, engaged artists (so rare), lovely venue. '
'Beautiful and stimulating as always'
'Always an enjoyable fair to visit with artwork that is affordable'
'Magnificent display of craftmanship, technique and representation'
'Excellent exhibition'
'What a lot of talent - excellent'
'A particularly good year'
'Brilliant - diverse styles and work. Thanks!'

Brighton Art Fair has gained a considerable reputation as an excellent, high quality, accessible and eclectic art fair. It is organised for artists by artists and the main emphasis is on individual artists selling directly to the public.
Set amid the Regency splendour of Brighton’s Corn Exchange, the fair showcases affordable artwork mostly between £50 and £1500. Artists are carefully selected from over 300 applications received each year and we aim to exhibit artists who are producing very high quality, original and innovative artwork across a wide mix of media and styles. Brighton Art Fair is an opportunity for new and experienced art buyers to meet and purchase work direct from the artist, in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

The Chiddingly Festival
Chiddingly Festival has now been running for 30 years, this festival will be the 31st. The village of Chiddingly is in East Sussex, near to Hailsham, North of Eastbourne. Like many small rural villages, life revolves around the Church, the Village Hall and the pub (we used to have a shop and Post Office - those were the days).

All tastes are catered for - music, art, dance, puppetry, theatre, poetry and storytelling. This is a quite amazing festival for such a small village, the festival is an event that makes Chiddingly unique. As always, the festival starts with a full peal of bells from the tower of Chiddingly Village Church. THIS YEAR FEATURING......

WADHURST ART EXHIBITION
Wadhurst’s annual feast of fine art begins on 4th September until 13th September. The doors are open from 10.00am until 8.00pm daily (
weekends from 10.00am to 4.00pm). This is the biggest exhibition we have had, with 35 artists, sculptures, printmakers and students from Uplands Community College taking part. The artists are from a wide variety of backgrounds, with a colourful mix of styles and media.
Selected artists with pedigrees and formal training, artists who only took up painting on retirement, art students, art teachers and working studio artists showing together creates a special atmosphere and a vitality rarely experienced in any art exhibition of this quality.
Entry is free and there is a bar with tea and coffee available. On Thursday 16th, there will be a guitarist playing a two hour set in the evening, and this is free to everybody.
